The REINS Act: Restoring the Prerogative of the Legislative Branch to Enact the Law of the Land

Overview

On Monday, Feb. 1, Faegre Baker Daniels partner Brian Paul will host a CLE event for the Indianapolis Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society featuring Congressman Todd Young. Congressman Young will discuss the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, legislation he has sponsored that "would require any executive branch rule or regulation with an annual economic impact of $100 million or more...to come before Congress before an up-or-down vote before being enacted."

The REINS Act has passed through the House of Representatives with bipartisan support, but has never received a hearing in the Senate. Brian will give an informal introduction prior to Congressman Young's presentation.
