Riding for Freedom

Overview

In support of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, Faegre Baker Daniels is proud to continue our annual tradition of celebrating and remembering Martin Luther King, Jr. and the civil rights movement.

The one-hour lunch program on January 26, 2017, featuring Bob Zellner, organizer of the 1961 Freedom Rides and a prominent civil rights activist.

Mr. Zellner was one of the most influential white southerners during the 1960s civil rights movement and is the author of The Wrong Side of Murder Creek: A White Southerner in the Freedom Movement. The program will feature his untold stories of the civil rights movement and will examine the role that voting rights played in the civil rights movement through the Freedom Rides. The program will also include a Q&A conversation, moderated by FaegreBD partner and professional responsibility counsel Jay Yeager, that explores how voting rights continue to surface today.
