Dealing with Impairments in the Workplace

Overview

Join us for discussion of the challenges and opportunities that arise when your organization’s employees experience medical impairments. We will share ideas on accommodation processes and practices, supervisor education on managing employees who have medical needs, and questions that may come your way related to employee medical requests. We will cover topics such as:

•             Innovative accommodation approaches to get to the win-win solution
•             Handling situations involving addiction and mental health challenges
•             Balancing workplace safety and medical needs support
•             Medical accommodation with a contingent workforce
•             Support and comfort animals in the workplace
•             Structuring and documenting the interactive process
•             State law considerations in disability accommodation
•             When and how to accommodate “health pregnancy” needs

An application for standard Colorado, Indiana and Minnesota CLE credit will be submitted. The program will also be submitted to the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) for continuing education credit review.
