Amy Judge-Prein, counsel at Baker & Daniels, was quoted in the Fort Wayne Daily News article titled "Research May Be Shot in the Arm." The report focused on health systems capitalizing on research outside the hospital. There is increasing pressure to expand away from the traditional research centers, Judge-Prein pointed out. In some studies, regulators require companies to recruit patients who have never taken a similar drug. At the university hospitals where a lot of research already is done, there may not be enough eligible patients, she said. Researchers also want more access to different demographic groups.
