A front-page feature on Faegre Baker Daniels, in the form of a Q&A with managing partner Andrew Humphrey, ran in the June 17 issue of Minnesota Lawyer. With reporter Barbara Jones, Humphrey shared an update on how the firm has adapted at the 18-month mark post-combination.
"It's really been a remarkable experience," Humphrey said. "I've really been proud of my colleagues…During the combination, we talked a lot about culture. We want lawyers that …are focused on the client and how to work together."
Humphrey also discussed the new Silicon Valley office opening July 1, saying, "We're very intentional about Silicon Valley. It does reflect our approach to growth. We're never going to be a firm that just goes and plants a flag somewhere and says, ‘It looks like a good market.'"
Diversity and retention were also discussed. Humphrey described the new, cutting-edge Associate Career Model the firm has developed to rethink the way success is measured for firm professionals.
