States May Get Cracking on Backing Fracking Laws, Says Jamal Knight in Environmental Law Journal

Fracking has been a recurring news story across the country as the momentum of field development has expanded across the U.S. Faegre Baker Daniels associate Jamal Knight, whose environmental law practice focuses on assisting clients with compliance risks arising under federal, state and local environmental laws, authored an article for the Environmental Law Journal on the hot-button issue.

Knight explained how the fracking landscape in the U.S. differs greatly depending on state and local laws. He stressed that even within the same state, municipalities can have drastically different laws on fracking. Knight said the industry should prepare for potential new regulations at the state level meant to avoid lawsuits over unclear and conflicting fracking ordinances.
