Stuart Buttrick Quoted in XpertHR About Starbucks Dress Code Changes

In an article for XpertHR, Faegre Baker Daniels partner Stuart Buttrick shared his thoughts on what the recent changes to Starbucks’ dress code really mean for all employers who want to attract millennials. He warned that employers will have to continue to be sensitive to possibly discriminatory and offensive clothing during this transition.

“As employers continue to try to recruit and retain, millennials, many of whom place a premium on individuality, creativity, and “non-traditional” workspaces, allowing more individual creativity in conforming to a broad-based dress code strikes me as an easy way for an employer to differentiate itself with this demographic,” said Buttrick.
