With decades of experience in securities law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, venture capital and general corporate law, Jim walks with businesses as they evolve. He is an experienced presence at the negotiating table and has been lead counsel on billions of dollars’ worth of deals.

Financing Expertise

Jim also represents issuers and underwriters in public offerings of debt and equity securities, including IPOs. He has advised startups, entrepreneurs and institutional investors in many venture capital/private equity financing transactions.

Industry Expertise

Jim represents public and private companies in the computer hardware and software, manufacturing, biotechnology, energy, utilities, telecommunications, banking, insurance and health care industries.

Past Experience

Jim joined Faegre Baker Daniels in 2003 from the Colorado office of Cooley Godward, a national law firm headquartered in Palo Alto, California. Previously, Jim had practiced in the Philadelphia office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, one of the nation's largest law firms.
