Reid E. Dodge

Partner

Overview

Reid is passionate about helping clients navigate intellectual property laws to achieve their business objectives. His enthusiasm for IP law fuels his work, as Reid implements innovative legal strategies and solutions that ensure not only the resolutions to disputes, but the long-term safeguarding and advancement of clients’ interests.

Patent Disputes

Drawing from his engineering experience working in the powertrain group of an electric/hybrid electric vehicle company, Reid provides practical and strategic counseling for defending against and asserting patent rights related to a range of technologies, including everything from integrated circuits and optical discs to recreational vehicles and consumer products. Reid has significant experience representing clients in federal courts and tribunals throughout the country, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and district courts in the Third, Fifth, Seventh, Eighth and Ninth Circuits. He also has a successful track record of representing clients at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (or PTAB), the International Trade Commission (or ITC), FedArb, and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association.

Personal Interests

Outside of the office, Reid enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, good food, exploring Indiana’s underappreciated parks (Shades State Park is a favorite), travelling, and cheering on his favorite Indiana sports teams (Notre Dame lacrosse, IU basketball, Colts, and Pacers).
