Teresa Griffin is a trial lawyer with broad experience representing clients in complex family law matters, as well as other commercial litigation. Teresa also defends clients in asbestos litigation matters.

Family Law Litigation

Teresa advises on and litigates both the financial aspects that accompany a divorce and child-related matters. She has significant experience with valuing and dividing complex marital estates with assets such as trust interests and closely-held entities (including corporations, partnerships, professional practices and proprietorships); the assessment of executive compensation and benefits; and complex custody litigations including relocations and guardianships.

Teresa has counseled entity clients on litigation and discovery matters that result from family law disputes of employees, executives and principals, including issues that have arisen in M&A transactions.

Asbestos Defense

Teresa defends clients in asbestos personal injury cases. She currently helps manage the asbestos defense team for multiple Faegre Baker Daniels’ product manufacturer, distributor and supplier clients with pending asbestos litigation in Indiana state courts. This work includes coordinating defense, trial work-up, preparation and argument of dispositive motions, and settlement negotiations.

Mediation, Arbitration & Parenting Coordination

In family law matters, Teresa is experienced in alternative dispute resolution. She counsels clients during mediations and serves as a Registered Domestic Relations Mediator. Teresa is also a trained parenting coordinator and arbitrator.

Teresa has co-authored appellate briefs as well as petitions to transfer in many family law, guardianship and receivership matters. Teresa has successfully resolved appeals for clients, including by obtaining rulings that have clarified law.

Personal Passions

Teresa enjoys running and cooking with her family, and is an aspiring children’s book author. Teresa is passionate about public service, in particular, firefighters. Teresa is married to a firefighter and they have five children – all daughters, about whom Teresa is most passionate of all.
