Shannon Jankowski represents clients in intellectual property disputes, including libel and defamation, rights of publicity, copyright and trademark infringement, false advertising and First Amendment issues. She provides strategic counsel and pre-publication review to media companies and journalists, represents clients in enforcement of copyright and trademark rights, and advises on best practices in advertising, marketing and promotions.

Past Experience

During law school, Shannon gained litigation experience as a student attorney in the University of Minnesota’s Federal Immigration Litigation Clinic, where she briefed and argued a case before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. She also served as a summer associate for Faegre Baker Daniels and special rapporteur at the International Criminal Court’s Assembly of States Parties in the Netherlands.

Prior to law school, Shannon worked as a freelance actress in Minneapolis-St. Paul. She also worked as an in-house paralegal for an international hotel franchisor and a Minneapolis-based Fortune 500 company, where she helped negotiate and draft promotion and sponsorship agreements, reviewed marketing and advertising materials, drafted sweepstakes/contest rules and provided guidance on social media policy.
