Overview

Jeni Lamb Rogers is a member of the firm’s nationally ranked food litigation and regulatory practice as well as the national food and agribusiness industry team. She brings a variety of experience in food and agriculture to help clients navigate federal, state and local regulatory frameworks and help their food businesses thrive. Her experience includes working for a food hub to help organic and conventional produce growers and small processed food businesses to market their products, manage risk and practice food safety.

Regulatory and Transactional Experience

Jeni’s regulatory and transactional experience in food and agribusiness includes:

  • Reviewing product labeling and packaging to comply with FDA, FTC and USDA regulations to reduce risk of regulatory enforcement and consumer claims
  • Advising startup food businesses on compliance with FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) requirements, including the Produce Safety Regulation, Preventive Controls for Human and Animal Food Regulations, Sanitary Transport Regulation, and the Foreign Supplier Verification Program
  • Assisting FDA regulated food facilities to prepare for domestic and foreign inspection
  • Negotiating processing, supply and contract manufacturing agreements for food brands
  • Advising clients through FDA and FSIS regulated recalls and development of recall plans and procedures

Before joining Faegre Baker Daniels, Jeni was an associate at Holland & Hart LLP. She also started a non-profit soy processing business for farmers living with HIV in western Kenya and has worked on conservation agriculture research projects in Kenya, Uganda and Lesotho. Jeni is a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) for Human Food, and she is a Produce Safety Alliance trainer.
