Dan focuses his practice on patent litigation and strategic counseling related to patent and technology-based disputes. He works with a diverse array of clients, from startup software companies and breweries to major retailers, medical device manufacturers, and financial services companies. He has represented clients in federal courts throughout the United States, at both the trial and appellate levels.

A degreed mechanical engineer and registered patent attorney, Dan has litigated patent cases involving a variety of technologies, including computer software, apps and hardware for mobile devices, electronic funds transfers, digital encryption, antipiracy watermarking for motion picture film, medical devices, laser ablation, vehicular airbags, recreational vehicles, consumer electronics, maternity and children's products, trampolines, and police hardware, among others.

His litigation practice includes representing clients in inter partes review and other post-grant review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In addition to patent cases, Dan has represented clients in trademark, unfair competition and copyright disputes, as well as matters involving contract and antitrust claims.
