Overview

Erik Mosvick is an all-around advisor for employers. He defends employment litigation, advises on employee relations and compliance matters, guides on employment and labor matters during M&A transactions, and counsels on labor management relations.

Employment Litigation

Erik represents employers in all stages of litigation, from complaints to appeals. He has successfully represented employers in state and federal courts, arbitration proceedings, and federal, state and municipal agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Minnesota Department of Human Rights (MDHR).

Erik specializes in:
  • Claims of discrimination under Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and retaliation and whistleblower statutes
  • Trade secrets and non-compete claims

Employee Relations Counseling & Compliance

Erik advises clients on complex workplace laws, partnering with them to develop practical business solutions to sensitive workplace issues. He assists employers of all sizes, including public and private companies, emerging businesses and nonprofit organizations. Erik counsels businesses regarding hiring practices, complex employee discipline and discharge matters, and the preparation of employment agreements and personnel policies.

Transactional Guidance

Erik guides companies and investment groups in employment and labor relation matters in M&A transactions. He advises employers regarding the legal compliance of employment policies and practices in acquisitions and drafts agreements for transitioning employees and consultants post-acquisition.

Labor Management Relations

Erik helps national businesses navigate grievance arbitrations, unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and responses to union organizing campaigns and petitions for representation. He also counsels clients and trains management staff on practical strategies for effective employee management in unionized environments.

Personal Interests

Erik enjoys playing soccer and hockey and traveling with his wife.
