Overview

Bob O'Loughlin collaborates with clients to navigate intellectual property opportunities and risks and to achieve their objectives regarding innovation, commercialization and competition. 

His practice includes: 

  • Developing and managing global IP strategies and portfolios to advance clients' business objectives
  • Performing freedom-to-operate investigations, risk assessment, and design-around counseling
  • Drafting and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications
  • Conducting due diligence for corporate transactions
  • Preparing opinions regarding infringement, validity, and enforceability of patents
  • Supporting patent litigation and settlement activities with strategic analysis
  • Negotiating and drafting intellectual property agreements

Bob has experience in the electrical arts, the mechanical arts and the computer software/engineering arts, with particular emphasis on medical devices and various aspects of energy and natural resources.
