Overview

Ben Petre counsels clients and litigates disputes in construction and general commercial matters. He focuses on construction law and business and commercial litigation, but is also experienced in business torts, professional liability, insurance coverage and insurance bad faith litigation. Ben's dispute resolution experience includes case evaluation, discovery, depositions, motions practice, oral argument, federal bid protests, administrative appeals, mediation, arbitration and settlement negotiations.

Ben is also a trusted business advisor to many of his clients. He drafts and negotiates contracts, resolves disputes, assesses risks, and performs insurance coverage analysis. Ben’s dedication to his clients and his appreciation for his clients' entrepreneurial spirit is at the heart of all of his legal work. Ben understands that his clients' business considerations are as important as the legal issues at hand.

Construction Claims and Disputes

Ben represents general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals and owners in complex construction litigation. He has represented clients in various disputes, including construction defects and payment issues.

Contract Drafting and Negotiation

Ben also handles contract matters for construction professionals, design professionals and owners in various contract matters. He negotiates and drafts all forms of contract documents, from design-build contracts, master service agreements, construction management contracts and master procurement agreements.

Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution

Ben handles a variety of matters for commercial entities, including disputes related to mechanic’s liens, wrongful termination, payment issues, insurance bad faith and fraud.
