Mike helps clients resolve complex business disputes in a variety of forums nationwide. He is committed to understanding clients’ businesses and knowing their objectives, and is adept at defending and pursuing commercial litigation claims. Mike has substantial experience defending class actions, including matters arising under various consumer protection and data privacy laws. Real estate disputes — including those arising from purchase and sale transactions, leases, easements and operating agreements of all types — are also central to Mike’s practice.

Commercial and Class Action Litigation

Mike has helped clients achieve early resolution, win defense verdicts and recoveries, and negotiate settlements during commercial disputes. He has represented clients in issues ranging from consumer fraud laws and false advertising litigation to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and other privacy issues.

Real Estate Disputes

Mike has extensive experience in real estate disputes at both the trial and appellate levels. He has advocated for clients on issues such as failed commercial property transactions, easement and operations agreements, and trespass and easement interference.

Pro Bono

Mike leads the firm's pro bono practice in support of civil rights for LGBT persons, including through partnership with prominent organizations such as Lambda Legal, National Center for Lesbian Rights and Southern Poverty Law Center.

Civic Activities

Mike serves as a Board and Executive Committee member of The Fund for Legal Aid, helping to raise funds supporting the work of Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid.
