Evelyn (Evie) Snyder

Counsel

Overview

Evie Snyder is a trial attorney with more than a decade of experience representing clients in complex litigation matters. She primarily counsels and advocates for clients in environmental litigation, consumer fraud litigation, housing litigation, class actions and government matters.

Environmental Litigation

Evie obtained fair and just recoveries for over 1,000 commercial fishermen and businesses who suffered economic and property damages as a result of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill of 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico — the largest environmental disaster in history. She represented clients at every stage of the Deepwater Horizon multidistrict litigation and settlement process. She also represents commercial fishermen in a variety of matters ranging from Gulf oyster harvesters to Alaska salmon fishermen.

Class Actions

Evie litigates large class actions including discrimination cases on behalf of disadvantaged farmers and consumer fraud cases on behalf of low-income and elderly tenants.

Government Matters

Evie litigates against the federal government pursuant to the Tucker Act. Evie supports clients in complex federal breach of contract and takings litigation. She represents commercial landowners in disputes related to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Section 515 Multi-family Housing Program. She also represents insurance companies in matters related to the Affordable Care Act.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining the firm, Evie clerked for Special Master Richard Boswell in California, where she resolved appeals in Catholic Services v. Tom Ridge, the largest class action lawsuit filed against the former Immigration and Naturalization Service.
