Overview

Margaret M. Zylstra is a paralegal in the firm's intellectual property and products liability litigation groups and has assisted attorneys in this area for more than 30 years. Her main focus in the last 12 years has been patent, trademark and copyright litigations. Her primary responsibilities include case management, discovery, trial and patent research. She assists attorneys with all aspects of litigation including case administration, discovery, trial preparation and trial. Her expertise includes e-discovery case coordination and trials in many different Federal and State Court systems. Margaret is currently a member of the firm's Paralegal Advisory Group.
Margaret's litigation experience includes:
  • Managing complex trials and trial preparation
  • Review and production of diverse categories of e-discovery
  • Collecting and overseeing large volume document depositories
  • Database management
  • Working knowledge of Relativity, Case Notebook, Summation and Excel
  • Legal research and cite checking
  • Patents, trademark and copyright investigation
  • Drafting motions and pleadings
  • Filing electronic pleadings in the State and Federal courts
  • Using Internet based programs for IP research and background
