Town of Telluride Condemns 572 Acres for Open Space Preservation

United States - Colorado

Our firm represented the Town of Telluride, Colorado in a condemnation action to acquire approximately 572 acres at the entrance of the town for open space purposes. The case involved complex questions relating to the development potential and value of the property, including environmental contamination, water rights, ski area permits, wetlands, and zoning and development approvals. The matter also involved legal challenges to the Town’s authority to condemn the property that were resolved in the Town’s favor at the Colorado Supreme Court.
