Maersk Favorably Settles DOJ Investigation

Maersk settled a three-year U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation into the alleged forgery of delivery documents for thousands of missing cargo containers, which were likely stolen in Afghanistan. The case was settled as a civil matter outside of the False Claims Act, avoiding penalties and damages. Jim Philbin represented Maersk as the company's general counsel in the matter.
