North America - United States | North America | United States - Wisconsin

An engine manufacturer and two of its executives obtained summary judgment, a dismissal for insufficiency of evidence claims and a defense verdict following a seven-day trial on various state law claims brought by a former employee, including defamation, invasion of privacy, negligence, conspiracy, intentional infliction of emotional distress and tortious interference with a contract.

Of the 21 claims, our firm eliminated three on summary judgment and a fourth on a motion for reconsideration. After the first four days of trial in Madison, Wisconsin, our firm eliminated nine more claims on a motion to dismiss for insufficiency of evidence. Following three more days of trial and three hours of deliberation, the jury returned a complete defense verdict on the remaining eight claims.
