Higher Education Institution Wins Summary Judgment on Discrimination Claims

A tenured professor whose employment was terminated sued their former university, asserting claims of sex discrimination and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, violations of the Equal Pay Act, breach of contract, and violation of the Indiana Wage Claims Statute. The professor also sued her former supervisor, alleging sex discrimination and sexual harassment under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and violations of the Equal Pay Act.

Summary judgment was granted in favor of the university and was affirmed on appeal by the Seventh Circuit in August of 2015, with our firm representing the higher education institution on both the underlying case and appeal.
