Minnesota Tribes’ Courts Defeat Jurisdiction Challenges

Minnesota tribes’ courts, and a tribal court judge, prevailed in federal court over objections to their jurisdiction in a child custody matter. Faegre Baker Daniels represented a tribal court and the tribal court judge -- and presented an argument for a second tribal court -- in the litigation, successfully moving for dismissal of the plaintiffs’ claims.
