Faegre Baker Daniels Announces 2018 Leadership Transitions

Faegre Baker Daniels has announced a number of leadership transitions and strategic changes to group structures that took effect on March 1, 2018.

Jared Briant has become Denver office leader. His practice focuses on intellectual property and other complex medical device litigation matters in state and federal courts nationwide. He also counsels clients on patent, copyright, trademark and false advertising matters in a variety of areas.

Scott Chinn is now leading the combined corporate public finance and public sector consulting practices, which includes the firm’s public-private partnership (P3) practice. Chinn assists clients on public sector advice, transactions and litigation with an emphasis on infrastructure, procurement, regulatory, economic development and finance. He also teaches and lectures on constitutional law.

Murray Clark is now leading the firm’s government advocacy group. Clark practices in several legal areas, including government and administrative law, where he has first-hand experience in understanding the legislative and administrative processes. His law practice experience includes land use, planning, zoning, development and other regulatory issues as well as financing. Clark previously led the firm’s Indianapolis office.

Chris Dolan joins Colin Harris as co-leader of the energy and natural resources industry team. Dolan focuses on environmental litigation arising under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and a variety of state statutes as well as contractual environmental indemnity provisions.

David Gross has become California office leader for the firm’s Los Angeles and Silicon Valley locations. Gross is an accomplished intellectual property trial lawyer who is consistently recognized among the country’s top litigators. Gross serves as an advisory board member for Stanford’s Center on the Legal Profession and helps coordinate our firm’s activities as an official partner with the center’s Legal Design Lab.

David Johnson leads the firm’s Minnesota state relations practice. Johnson works regularly with trade and professional associations, governmental entities, financial services providers, corporations, pension funds and others. His experience includes advising clients on government contracting and compliance, licensing, open meeting, and data practices issues.

Patrick Miller is now serving as the Chicago office leader. Miller's practice focuses on major infrastructure projects and construction law. He has significant design-build and P3 procurement expertise and extensive experience working with public sector clients on transportation, water and social infrastructure projects.  He also represents clients in construction and real estate litigation, helping resolve disputes in Chicago, Indiana and throughout the country.

Kathy Osborn has become Indianapolis office leader. Osborn is a commercial litigator and trial attorney who represents clients in complex antitrust, corporate, class action, child protection, insurance, white collar, and high-wealth fiduciary/estate/probate matters. She represents businesses and individuals in state and federal courts and before enforcement agencies.  Osborn also is an active antitrust compliance counselor and co-chair of the firm’s antitrust and trade regulation practice. Her industry experience in antitrust spans food and agribusiness, automotive, construction, education, pharmaceuticals, health care, orthopedic and other medical products, insurance, retail, energy, utilities, sports, manufacturing and construction.

Dave Zook is now leading the combined health and FDA group and will continue serving as the Washington, D.C. office leader. Zook is an advisor to the private and public sectors on federal budgetary, legislative and regulatory matters. His practice focuses on public policy and funding initiatives in the health, higher education and research arenas.
