Faegre Baker Daniels Honored With Global Awards From Corporate INTL

Two legal practices and three partners at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP have been recognized as the best in their jurisdictions by Corporate INTL's 2014 Global Awards.

Corporate INTL named FaegreBD the Employee Benefits Law Firm of the Year in Indiana. FaegreBD's employee benefits team advises on strategic planning, plan design, plan document preparation, employee communications, implementation and administration of benefit programs, and resolution of issues and claims. Employee benefits also advise on implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and maintain a Health Care Reform Q&A for Employers to keep clients informed of the latest guidance on compliance with the law.

The labor team in London has been recognized by Corporate INTL for the second year running as Labor Law Firm of the Year in England. The award reflects the continued success of the firm's employment practice in representing predominantly international clients on cross-border employment work of all kinds, as well as advising homegrown clients on matters such as TUPE, restrictive covenants and team moves.

Michael B. Abbott was honored with the M&A Attorney of the Year designation in Iowa. He has represented buyers, sellers and institutional investors in many different types of M&A transactions, and also counsels on financial transactions, corporate debt restructurings, emerging companies, private equity and venture capital. Abbott was involved in many M&A transactions in 2013, both in and out of Iowa, including as lead deal counsel for NASCAR in its purchase of the Iowa Speedway from U.S. Motorsport Corporation in November 2013.

David K. Herzog, a partner and leader of FaegreBD's business litigation practice group, was named Indiana's Business Litigation Attorney of the Year. He focuses on complex business and commercial litigation. In nearly His experience includes serving as managing partner of Faegre Baker Daniels' Indianapolis office and as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of Conseco Inc.

Andrew G. Humphrey, FaegreBD's managing partner, was named Corporate Attorney of the Year in Minnesota. His practice focuses in the areas of general corporate counseling, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financing, and securities regulation. Humphrey led the combination of Faegre & Benson and Baker & Daniels to become Faegre Baker Daniels on Jan. 1, 2012.
