Faegre & Benson Congratulates Ronald Hunter on Minority Business Award

Directing Cargill's domestic and international trademark portfolio, Hunter provides strategy and legal guidance to the Cargill Brand Council, assisting with protection of the company's intellectual property rights.

Faegre & Benson was pleased to nominate Hunter for this award, says Will Stute, a partner and litigator with the firm. "In our work with Cargill, we appreciate the opportunity to interact with committed individuals like Ron. His efforts to promote diversity at Cargill and in the legal profession deserve recognition," says Stute.

Carolyn Sandberg, the firm's diversity manager, attended college with Hunter—giving her a unique vantage point on his contributions. "Through his leadership and inclusiveness, Ron continually achieves above-average results," says Sandberg. "He is a living example of the value diversity brings to organizations and communities."

For more than 20 years, Hunter served on the Cargill hiring committee, attending minority career fairs and recruiting women and minorities to the company. He is responsible for recommending recruiting efforts at Howard University and other historically black colleges and universities.

Hunter served on the board of directors and for two terms as president of the Minnesota Minority Lawyer Association. He also served on the board of directors of the successor organization, Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers, for many years.
