Need Prompts Baker & Daniels to Start Holiday Giving Program Early

When families gather over the holidays to count their blessings, it's a perfect time to think of those less fortunate. Unfortunately, due to the nation's economic conditions, this year the need is much greater than in the past.

Baker & Daniels LLP typically supports three community charities for the firm's holiday giving program. But this year, the firm kicked off the program early with a food drive to benefit local food pantries over Thanksgiving. More than 500 food items were donated and delivered to a local food pantry and the Hope for Holidays Food Drive, which was organized by the Indianapolis Fire and Police Departments. Baker & Daniels employees also delivered food baskets to a nonprofit organization.

The focus of Baker & Daniels' annual holiday giving program now shifts to December's collection of "wish list" items for the three charities selected this year. Items traditionally include clothing, toys, household items, toiletries and gift cards.

The holiday giving program is one of many activities at Baker & Daniels throughout the year to help support organizations in the communities where the firm's employees work and live.
