Scott A. Anderegg

Scott Anderegg has practiced in commercial real estate since joining Faegre Baker Daniels in 1989. He handles all aspects of commercial real estate, including purchases and sales, development, leasing, financing and workouts, joint venture and equity structuring, involving all major market segments including office, retail, industrial, multi-family and hospitality. Scott leads FaegreBD's national real estate group.

Commercial and Industrial Real Estate

Scott regularly advises large regional and national corporate users of commercial and industrial real estate in connection with their real estate portfolios. He has extensive experience representing these users in real estate acquisition, disposition, lease, financing and development transactions across the United States. Scott's experience includes:

  • Acquisition, divestment and development transactions for business expansion or relocation, including portfolio and auction transactions.
  • Commercial leasing transactions involving retail, office, and industrial properties, including ground leases and build-to-suit leases.
  • Development and acquisition of headquarters, data center, warehouse, distribution and other corporate facilities.
  • Acquisition and disposition of portfolios of assets and properties acquired through mergers and other entity level transactions.
  • Real estate financing transactions, including mortgage, capital lease, and sale-leaseback transactions.

Representative clients in these areas include Ameriprise Financial, HNI Corporation, Piper Jaffray, Principal Financial Group and US Bancorp, each of whom Scott represents in connection with the leasing, acquisition and disposition of office, retail and industrial locations nationwide.

Asset Acquisitions and Investment Transactions

Scott also regularly advises retailers, REITs and other real estate focused investors and businesses in connection with their asset acquisition, disposition, development and investment transactions across the United States. Scott's experience in these areas includes:

  • Representing investors and developers in all aspects of their real estate projects, including acquisition, development, leasing, property management, and dispositions.
  • Representing retailers and developers in the development and redevelopment of retail and office projects.
  • Structuring real estate investments for investors acquiring, financing and disposing of investments in income-producing real estate assets, including structuring investments through the use of limited liability companies, limited partnerships, and other pooled investment vehicles.

Representative clients in these areas include CarVal Investors, Hines, Holiday Companies, Life Time Fitness and Target Corporation.

Scott works as part of a stable and dependable team of experienced professionals who bring a leveraged, efficient and cost effective approach to real estate transactions. He also regularly partners with clients to achieve their business goals while maintaining cost predictability, including by regularly employing alternative fee arrangements in a variety of matters.
