Wendy W. Ponader has rejoined Baker & Daniels LLP as counsel in the law firm's commercial and bankruptcy practice group.
Ponader first joined Baker & Daniels in 1988. She was a partner on the commercial, financial and bankruptcy services team until founding Ponader & Associates LLP in 2003 to give her flexibility to spend more time with her children. Ponader has returned to Baker & Daniels after six years with Ponader & Associates.
Ponader has been selected to Indiana Super Lawyers in bankruptcy and creditor/debtor rights from 2005 through 2009. She was named a Distinguished Fellow by the Indianapolis Bar Foundation in 2005. In the community, Ponader serves on the Board of Directors for HARMONI, Inc., an initiative to rejuvenate the historic Midtown neighborhood, and is a former member of the Board of Directors for both St. Richard's School and the Indianapolis Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ponader has extensive experience representing clients in business, commercial and financial transactions, as well as in general business matters. Her focus includes creditors' rights, bankruptcy and business restructuring. Ponader also represents purchasers of companies or the assets of companies in bankruptcy cases. Additionally, she has represented small and mid-sized privately held companies in stock sales, financing arrangements, commercial and personal property leases, sales transactions and employment matters.
Ponader graduated from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington after receiving her bachelor's degree from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She practiced for three years in Chicago at a leading boutique business insolvency firm after earning her law degree.
