Founded in 1993, DBIA is a nonprofit membership-based organization dedicated to single-source integrated design and construction contracting. The group's members perform design and construction work in all non-residential market sectors, including buildings, industrial process facilities and civil infrastructure projects.
Organizations like DBIA accomplish what no single company or individual can reasonably obtain on their own. By joining forces, owners, architects, engineers, contractors and allied professionals advance and guide the industry.
The Great Lakes Region — which serves Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin â strives to regionally shape the design-build process by active involvement in the construction community. Involvement includes promotion of design-build through continuing educational workshops and the recruitment of industry leaders to facilitate the organization.
At Baker & Daniels, Miller represents clients in all phases of the construction process â from drafting and negotiating design and construction agreements through assisting with dispute resolution and litigation. He has experience representing owners, design-builders, contractors, trades, suppliers, architects and engineers.
Miller is a frequent lecturer on design-build construction, and he assists public agencies and private owners with best practices in design-build procurement and contracting, and design-build teams with responding to RFQ's and RFP's for design-build services.
Miller also is the Indiana Case Note Editor for the American Bar Association Section of Litigation's Construction Litigation Committee. He works out of Baker & Daniels' Chicago office, moving from the firm's downtown Indianapolis location at the start of 2009.
