Baker & Daniels Scores Well in National Midlevel Associates Survey

Baker & Daniels LLP was ranked first in Indianapolis and 21st in the U.S. by The American Lawyer annual midlevel associates survey.

The ratings were based on 12 core questions that contribute to job satisfaction. In the survey, Baker & Daniels' associates gave the firm its highest marks in overall place to work, partner-associate interaction, interaction among associates, how interesting the work is and openness regarding finances.

Baker & Daniels' No. 21 national ranking was six places better than 2008 when it last participated, and the firm maintained its No. 1 Indianapolis ranking from two years ago. Based on a 1-to-5 scale (with five being the highest), Baker & Daniels' composite score of 4.036 was higher than the national average of 3.733.

In the survey, Baker & Daniels was represented by associates from its Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, South Bend and Chicago offices. Associates from the 2005, 2006 and 2007 hiring classes were eligible to participate.

"Lawyers and professional staff work hard to make Baker & Daniels a great place to work," said Scott Kosnoff, the firm's managing partner for professional personnel who also practices law in insurance and financial services. "We are proud of our survey rankings and scores, and we will remain committed to providing the most positive working environment possible."

The national survey included 5,092 midlevel associates — attorneys in their third, fourth and fifth years of practice — who represented 137 firms in the Am Law 200.
