Washington, D.C. (27-October-2010) — Libby L. Baney, an advisor with B&D Consulting, has been elected to the Indiana University Law Alumni Board.
When Baney begins her three-year term in January 2011, she will be the youngest member of the board. The board is a 36-member group of alumni from across the country coming together to create and encourage alumni support for the Indiana University School of Law through effective communication and creative programs for alumni. The board also is charged with furthering the educational, social and charitable interests of the School of Law and its graduates.
Baney, who practices from the firm's Washington, D.C. office, graduated cum laude from the IU Maurer School of Law-Bloomington in 2007. She earned her bachelor's degree in 2004 from Indiana University with highest distinction.
Working on insurance and health issues at B&D Consulting, Baney provides strategic counsel to trade associations, nonprofits, corporations, governmental entities and individuals on matters related to federal government action. She advocates for clients on Capitol Hill and with the Executive Branch and other stakeholders by developing and executing public policy solutions to the complex regulatory challenges facing the insurance, and health and life sciences industries.
Baney also is an associate lawyer with Baker & Daniels LLP (the parent firm of B&D Consulting) where she advises private and public sectors on federal compliance, legislative matters and regulatory issues involving health & life science and insurance issues. Baney, who is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and Indiana, is active with the D.C. Bar Health Law Section and volunteers with the Partnership for a Healthier Alexandria in Alexandria, Virginia.
