Ken Liebman and David Gross, partners in the firm's Minneapolis office, were recognized by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine as among the world's foremost patent litigators in the 2011 edition of IAM 250 -The World's Leading Patent Litigators. Faegre & Benson is one of only three Minnesota firms whose attorneys were included among the honorees.
IAM mentions the exponential growth of the firm's intellectual property practice, remarking on its "demonstrable track record of simultaneously running multiple complex and sizeable patent litigations." It calls attention to Liebman's role as counsel to Target in a number of patent litigation suits across several jurisdictions and as lead trial and appellate counsel for NETGEAR in the successful defense of a test case involving patents allegedly covering the 802.11 WiFi standard. IAM also describes Gross as a "hugely respected" IP trial lawyer, "who regularly acts as a lead trial counsel for household names such as 3M."
To complete its rankings, IAM 250 interviewed industry insiders, requesting detailed insights into which lawyers stood out for their experience in patent litigation.
