Faegre & Benson Wins Jury Verdict for Benchmark Electronics

On September 27, Faegre & Benson won an important victory for Benchmark Electronics, provider of electronics manufacturing services, in a multimillion-dollar jury trial in Minneapolis federal court (Davis, C.J.) involving a series of manufacturing agreements relating to patented technology for ultra-thin printable batteries.

Following a two-week trial, the jury rejected the $22 million damages claims brought by the Israel-based plaintiff, Power Paper, and instead awarded defendant Benchmark Electronics more than $700,000 on its counterclaims.

"We are very pleased with this trial victory," said Faegre & Benson partner Debbie Ellingboe, lead counsel for Benchmark. "The winning jury verdict represents a fitting end to a four-year legal dispute between these two companies."

In addition to Debbie Ellingboe, other members of the trial team included Faegre & Benson lawyers Chad Drown, Lauren Frank, and David Gross.

Benchmark Electronics is headquartered in Angleton, Texas, and has 21 facilities in 10 countries (including facilities in Rochester, Winona, and New Brighton, Minnesota).
