Amie Peele Carter Elected to National Intellectual Property Board of Directors

Amie Peele Carter of Faegre Baker Daniels LLP has been elected to the Board of Directors for the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA). Her three-year term began October 27, 2012.

AIPLA serves as an innovator, powerful advocate and visible global leader in intellectual property through its commitment to education, outreach, member service and advocacy. The association's mission includes serving the public by fostering incentives for creativity and innovation while balancing interest in healthy competition, reasonable costs and basic fairness. In advancing AIPLA's strategic plans, board members also serve as liaisons to the association's standing committees.

Carter is an intellectual property and sports lawyer. As a partner at Faegre Baker Daniels, she helps clients protect, enforce and monetize their intellectual property assets. Carter works with her clients to leverage their trademark rights, advertising and publicity opportunities, sponsorship relationships, website content and licensing options. She works with sports properties, sports marketing companies, national governing bodies of Olympic sport, fashion designers and manufacturers, advertising agencies, consumer products companies and service providers. 

Carter has served on many committees and subcommittes since she joined AIPLA in 2007. She chaired both the trademark committee and the sports and entertainment law subcommittee. Carter, who also is a member of the International Trademark Association, is a frequent speaker at national conferences.

Carter joined Faegre Baker Daniels in 1999.
