Dennis Ryan Receives Raeder Larson Public Service Award

The law firm Faegre Baker Daniels LLP is pleased to announce that Dennis Ryan, a partner in the firm's finance and restructuring group, has received the prestigious Raeder Larson Public Service Award. This award is presented annually by the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) Bankruptcy Section to an individual who has delivered outstanding service through the support and provision of pro bono legal services in the bankruptcy and debtor-creditor areas.

Ryan is being recognized for his career-long commitment to pro bono service. He is a founding member of the Volunteer Lawyers Network (VLN) Bankruptcy Screening Project for low-income debtors and has volunteered with the program for over 27 years. Ryan's other pro bono work includes his involvement with the bankruptcy adversary proceeding pro bono defense project for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota. Additionally, he has served on VLN's Bankruptcy Committee and the Pro Bono Committee of the MSBA Bankruptcy Section.

"I am extremely honored and humbled to be recognized in this manner," stated Ryan. "Early in my career I had the privilege of working with Raeder Larson when he was the clerk of the Bankruptcy Court, so receiving this award that is named for his outstanding contributions to the community is especially meaningful."

As a partner in the finance and restructuring group, Ryan focuses his practice in the areas of bankruptcy, business reorganizations and commercial finance. He earned his law degree at the University of Iowa College of Law and received his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College.

Ryan will be presented the award during the Judge's luncheon at the MN-CLE Annual Bankruptcy Institute in early October.
