FaegreBD's Shannon Reed Named to Fort Wayne 40 Under 40

Shannon K. Reed of Faegre Baker Daniels LLP was named by Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly as one of the top professionals under the age of 40 in northeast Indiana. The newspaper recognized 41 individuals with its annual 40 Under 40 awards at an event on March 14, 2013.

Reed, a partner in the health and life sciences practice at Faegre Baker Daniels, focuses on guiding providers as they seek to comply with health care regulations, negotiate contracts, defend themselves during litigation and operate their businesses. She has represented health care providers during investigations by the federal and state government and represents licensed professionals before state licensing boards. Additionally, she has litigated many commercial matters, including recovering $1.6 million for an individual during a real estate matter and prevailing on summary judgment for a medical device company in a two-year age discrimination employment case, avoiding a potential $2.3 million loss by the client.

Utilizing her health care expertise, Reed serves on the board of Super Shot, a nonprofit providing immunizations to low-income children in the Allen County area. She is a leader in the legal community, serving on the board of the Allen County Bar Association since 2007, including terms as president, president-elect and vice president. Reed is committed to helping others and volunteers with the Superior Court Mental Health Pro Bono Program and Volunteer Lawyer Program in Allen County. In an interview with Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly, Reed cited a successful pro bono guardianship case and the positive impact on the family involved as a case that left a lasting impression of the importance of community service.

In addition to providing top legal services to clients and becoming a partner of the firm, Reed told Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly that her children are her best accomplishment. She explained that it is only through the support of her husband that she has "been able to advance through the ranks to become a partner and raise our boys."

Forty Under 40 winners were selected by a panel of judges based on their career achievements and community involvement. Read Shannon's full interview in Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly.
