Faegre Baker Daniels LLP is pleased to announce that Yonghao Hou has joined the intellectual property practice as an associate in the firm's Indianapolis office. Hou will focus on preparing and prosecuting patents and providing litigation and licensing counsel to institutions and companies in the life sciences, biomedical, energy and natural resources, and food and agricultural industries.
Prior to joining Faegre Baker Daniels, Hou was an attorney at her own firm, providing clients counsel on intellectual property protection, transactions, foreign worker visa petitions and other legal needs.
Hou brings exceptional bioscience expertise to her role. In addition to earning a law degree from Indiana University School of Law, she has a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Indiana University School of Medicine, a master's degree in molecular immunology from the Institute of Virology at the Chinese Academy of Preventative Medicine in Beijing, and a bachelor's degree in virology and molecular biology from Wuhan University in Wuhan, China.
Before beginning her legal career, Hou worked as a research associate in cell biology at Indiana University and Washington University, where she collaborated with biotechnology companies on drug discovery and development.
