Jacqueline Pimentel-Gannon Honored with IndyBar Pro Bono Award

Jacqueline Pimentel-Gannon, associate in Faegre Baker Daniels' nonprofit organizations practice, has been selected as a recipient of the 2014 Pro Bono Award for Attorneys Aiding Individuals from the Indianapolis Bar Association (IndyBar).

Pimentel-Gannon has contributed more than 500 hours of service in her three years with FaegreBD, dispersed among many projects. She volunteers for IndyBar's Ask-a-Lawyer program, which provides legal advice to people in need. She has also participated in the Low Asset Wills program, which helps low-income, low-asset seniors and low-income parents who need guardians named for children and provisions in case of death. Pimentel-Gannon is also active with FaegreBD's EMBRACE pro bono project, a medical-legal partnership in which attorneys prepare end-of-life documents for low-income cancer patients at Eskenazi Health.

Other projects Pimentel-Gannon has been part of include securing guardianships for relatives of elderly and special-needs children through the firm's medical legal partnership and public benefits through the McKinney Law School Health and Human Rights clinic. She has also handled asylum and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals cases with the National Immigrant Justice Center, and participated in homeowner property tax and green card clinics with the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic.

Pimentel-Gannon will be honored Nov. 13 at the Indianapolis Bar Association and Foundation Recognition Luncheon at 12 p.m. at the Columbia Club. Registration found at http://www.indybar.org/events.
