Edmond Ahadome and Jamal Knight of Faegre Baker Daniels' Minneapolis office have been named to the 2015 National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 List. Top 40 Under 40 lawyers are sought by invitation only and achieve the designation by being among the top 40 black lawyers under the age of 40 in their state.
The list comes from The National Black Lawyers – Top 100, an invitation-only, professional honorary organization composed of the Top 100 Black Lawyers or Non-Black attorneys that promote diversity from each state.
Only the Top 100 lawyers from each state who are actively practicing in the select specialty practices are eligible for invitation to The Top 100. Members are carefully screened and are evaluated based on factors including their reputation, achievements, board certifications, leadership and membership within other organizations, and rankings and ratings.
An intellectual property lawyer, Ahadome provides counsel and handles litigation on issues related to patent rights and copyright infringement. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in courts throughout the country. Ahadome's practice involves a range of industries and numerous technologies, including medical devices, consumer electronics and chemical products.
Knight, a real estate lawyer, was honored for his work in real estate transactions. He focuses on a wide variety of environmental and real estate-related matters, including the preparation of real estate partnership agreements and working with developers in the areas of land acquisition, governmental approvals and financing for new projects. He also advises on environmental compliance risks arising under federal, state and local environmental laws, including the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA).
