Nationally Recognized Health Care Leader Dan Evans Joins Faegre Baker Daniels Consulting

Accomplished health care executive and policy thought leader Dan Evans has joined Faegre Baker Daniels Consulting as a senior director in the health and biosciences group — part of the firm’s national health and life sciences industry team.

Evans joins the firm following a 13-year tenure as president and CEO of Indiana University Health, one of the nation’s largest academic health centers. Under his leadership, IU Health grew from three hospitals in downtown Indianapolis to a unified, statewide health system of nearly 20 hospitals serving more than 2.5 million patients a year. IU Health was consistently featured in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals rankings — which also identified IU Health as Indiana’s No. 1 hospital — during this time of exponential growth.

“Dan’s dedication to the improvement and expansion of Indiana’s health care industry has been truly outstanding,” said Faegre Baker Daniels’ Chair and Managing Partner Tom Froehle. “He has become an integral part of the industry, both in our state and nationally, and his expertise and understanding of how the industry operates will help us continue to provide our clients with the highest level of service as they evaluate and navigate looming federal changes for the health care industry.”

Evans has also been deeply involved in health care policy initiatives, including the renewal of the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP 2.0), which is a model for the national development of Medicaid. Drawing from his considerable experience, Evans provides insight into issues including integrated health systems, academic health centers, payer-provider convergence issues, population health and digital health. He will add his nationally-recognized expertise to help clients impact and navigate the ongoing policy and market changes.

“Dan has a strong grasp of the policy issues surrounding the health care industry,” said FaegreBD Consulting Chair Dave Zook. “He also knows firsthand how complex organizations can tackle health regulatory and payment changes while continuing to thrive from both a business and patient care perspective. These attributes make him an invaluable asset to our national health care team and the clients we serve.”

Evans earned his law degree from Indiana University McKinney School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Wabash College.
