Lane Coffey Womack Joins Intellectual Property Practice and Life Sciences Industry Team

Lane Coffey Womack has joined Faegre Baker Daniels’ intellectual property practice and life sciences industry team. She will practice as an associate in the firm’s Denver office.

Womack will focus on patent prosecution, with an emphasis on post-grant review proceedings. Her work occupies the intersection between intellectual property and the life sciences, leveraging her background as a research scientist in the fields of microbiology and immunology. Her scientific expertise encompasses transplantation, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, vaccines, anatomy and physiology, cancer biology, diagnostics and various medical devices. Through this experience, Womack has gained unique insight into clients’ patent needs, particularly when providing technical analysis of patents and of prior art, and in helping inventors protect and optimize intellectual assets. Womack enhances the intellectual property practice’s reputation for expertise in technical fields, joining more than 65 professionals with professional or academic backgrounds in fields such as biology, chemistry, engineering, physics and mathematics.

Lane earned a law degree at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she was inducted in the Order of St. Ives and served as senior editor of the University of Denver Law Review, in 2013. She earned a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology at the University of Miami in 2009 and a bachelor’s in biology from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2003.
