Enhanced CMS Oversight of Network Adequacy: Strategies for Medicare Advantage Plans

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has recently indicated it will be implementing new policies to increase oversight of the network adequacy of Medicare Advantage (MA) plans. The new policies—which will include tools to measure network adequacy year-round—reflect CMS's goal of preventing MA sponsors from offering robust networks upon initiation, then shrinking them shortly afterwards.

In this 90-minute webinar, Mike Adelberg, senior director for FaegreBD Consulting, and Deborah Schreiber, network compliance officer for the UnitedHealthcare Medicare and Retirement unit of UnitedHealth Group, will help MA plans prepare for the increased oversight. The presentation will focus on how MA sponsors can comply with network adequacy demands without sacrificing the high-performance provider panels that boost star ratings.
