Baker & Daniels Understands Fort Wayne Community

"There's continuity on an individual basis, but secondly, on an organizational basis. We're here; we're going to be here," Steven Jackson of Baker & Daniels told Fort Wayne Business People in its story, "A Worldwide Law Firm: With a Growing Local Presence" in the November issue. Tracing it lineage to 1863, Baker & Daniels holds the distinction of being the oldest continuous-practicing law firm in Indiana, the story reported.

The firm has a vested interest in Fort Wayne, which it demonstrates through its involvement with more than 100 local boards and organizations, according to Fort Wayne Business People. "By being involved in the basic foundation of the community, it makes us understand how it operates," Michael James said in the article.

The firm's business involvement is far-reaching, too, Tim Haffner of Baker & Daniels told Fort Wayne Business People. "There are few significant financial events in this community that we don't touch in some way," he said. "Some are fairly visible, and some you never hear about. We can drive by and smile and know that we helped get it done."

Baker & Daniels lawyers do a substantial amount of work around the country, as well as internationally, the story reported. "That gives us insight and experience into best practices around the world," Haffner told Fort Wayne Business People. In addition to its Fort Wayne office, the firm has offices in Indianapolis, South Bend, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Beijing.
