Tim Haffner Applauds Indiana Chamber's Efforts to Assist Businesses

The Indiana State Chamber of Commerce leader estimated that his group's efforts yielded $1.55 billion for Hoosier businesses by helping defeat "bad bills" and pass beneficial ones, the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette reported in its story, "Chamber Chief Touts Legislative Successes."

"I think they've done a very nice job over time," Tim Haffner of Baker & Daniels said in the story. Haffner, who is in his second term on the Indiana Chamber board, applauded Chamber president Kevin Brinegar and his staff's efforts, saying they make businesses aware of pending legislation's potential price tags.

In Fort Wayne, Brinegar told a luncheon audience that the Indiana Chamber needs to lead the battle against groups lobbying for anti-business laws and fight the forces that would make it harder to turn a profit, the Journal Gazette reported. The nonprofit Chamber's 5,000 member companies employ 800,000 workers, according to the story.
