2014 is Minnesota's Most Active M&A Year Since 2007: Bruce Engler Quoted in Star Tribune
As of late October 2014, Minnesota mergers and acquisition (M&A) activity has already surpassed totals from 2013. Minnesota companies engaged in 332 deals as of Oct. 24, up 11 percent from 2013 with two months left in the year. An Oct. 26 Star Tribune article highlighted two Minnesota transactions represented by Faegre Baker Daniels M&A teams: Hormel's $450 million purchase of Muscle Milk, and General Mills' $810 acquisition of Annie's, Inc.
Bruce Engler, partner and FaegreBD mergers and acquisitions practice leader, was quoted in the article, attributing some of the state's M&A activity to the food-and-beverage sector. He explained what the growth implies about the recovering economy. "Even though the deal volume is not yet back to peak levels, the valuations for sellers are getting there," he said.
The article was also cited in Minnesota Lawyer Oct. 27.
