Overview

Kiara Covarrubias assists institutional investors in structuring their investments in private funds and other alternative investment products, including negotiating investment terms and side letter rights. She counsels managers in the structuring of private investment funds across various asset classes, including private equity, venture capital, fund of funds and hedge funds. Kiara leans on her deal experience in mergers in acquisitions to support fund sponsors through secondary transactions and commercial contract review. Kiara also works with registered investment companies throughout their lifecycles starting with fund formation and on to ongoing compliance matters.

Prior Experience

Kiara is a former intern for legacy firm Faegre Baker Daniels. She previously worked as a Kamenir health advocacy fellow for Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles, advocating for English- and Spanish-speaking clients. She also served as a culturally responsive teaching fellow and Teach for America Corps member at an elementary school in San Antonio, Texas.
