Overview

Bob O'Loughlin collaborates with clients to navigate intellectual property opportunities and risks and to achieve their objectives regarding innovation, commercialization and competition. 

His practice includes: 

  • Developing and managing global IP strategies and portfolios to advance clients' business objectives
  • Performing freedom-to-operate investigations, risk assessment, and design-around counseling
  • Conducting intellectual property due diligence for corporate transactions
  • Drafting and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications
  • Preparing opinions regarding infringement, validity, and enforceability of patents
  • Developing positions and performing strategic analysis in support of patent litigation and settlement activities
  • Negotiating and drafting intellectual property agreements

Bob has experience in the computer software/engineering arts, the electrical arts, and the mechanical arts, with particular emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI), software and medical devices.
