Energy Fuels Resources Corporation Secures Uranium Mill License

North America - United States | North America | United States - Colorado

On April 25, 2013, the state of Colorado granted Energy Fuels Resources Corporation a license for construction to begin on the first new uranium mill in the U.S. in more than 30 years. Known as the Piñon Ridge Uranium Mill, the project will convert uranium ore into uranium oxide for use as fuel in nuclear reactors. Our firm guided Energy Fuels through the license application for the project, as well as a lengthy and at times contentious technical and regulatory review process that included a six-day hearing. Our firm also successfully defended the substance of the license in district court. We are currently representing the company in litigation over the re-issued license.

Energy Fuels Resources Corporation is America's largest conventional uranium producer, supplying approximately 25 percent of the uranium produced in the U.S., and is also a significant producer of vanadium.
